RCN MEDICAL MISSIONS REPORTING PROVISION OF FREE ANTENATAL SERVICES FOR PREGNANT WOMEN RESIDENT IN THE YELWATA IDP CAMP LOCATED AT THE INTERNATIONAL MARKET, CLOSE TO RCN MEDICAL CENTER – 2025 1. Background, team The RCN Missions’ Hospital was commissioned in 2024 with the mission of providing affordable, accessible and high-quality healthcare, driven by love and guided by faith. The institution is devoted to delivering services that prioritize physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Although located in Makurdi, Benue State, its impact reaches distant and rural communities through its three core programmes: - AromeCare (Medical Missions/Outreaches) - DinnaCare (Women and Children Health Support Programme) - DOCcare (Dedicated Organisation for Communities Care/Community Health Interventions) A Continuous Care Provision for the Yelwata IDP Camp In line with SDG 3.1 and the ENAP plan to reduce maternal, fetal and neonatal mortality rates, RCN Medical Center provides continuous free Antenatal Care services (ANC) to pregnant women in the Yelwata IDP Camp near the International Market, Makurdi. Services include ultrasound screening, medical consultations, laboratory investigations when needed, and free medications. The camp hosts 188 pregnant women who can walk into the Mission Hospital at any time for free ANC services. 2. Activities Pre-visit: Approval obtained from Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA) and collaboration established with camp management. Visit: Proximity of the Mission Hospital allows easy access for pregnant women. Post-visit: Continued service provision. 3. Beneficiaries Pregnant women residing in the Yelwata IDP Mega Camp. 4. Aims / Goals To provide affordable and accessible healthcare and reduce maternal, fetal and neonatal mortality among the target population. 5. Impact Assessment Statistics showing provision of free ANC services: DINNACARE (15th, 25th, 29th August 2025) - Free scanning - Doctor consultations - Free medications Beneficiaries: 4 pregnant females AROMECARE (19th, 22nd August 2025) - Clinical services - Free medications - Follow-up wound dressing Beneficiaries: 1 female (injury from RTA)
