From hospital wards and operating theatres to IDP camps, prisons, schools and underserved communities, RCN Mission Hospital and RCN Medical Missions are building a model of healthcare in which compassion goes where the need is greatest.
Healthcare becomes truly transformative when it reaches the person who cannot afford treatment, the pregnant woman with limited access to antenatal care, the child vulnerable to preventable disease, the prisoner easily forgotten by society, and the person living with disability whose needs too often remain unseen.
This is the story unfolding through RCN Mission Hospital and RCN Medical Missions—a story measured not merely in numbers, but in people reached, suffering relieved, dignity restored and hope renewed.
29,376 patient encounters—and counting
At the heart of this work is a simple conviction: quality healthcare should reach people regardless of their circumstances or ability to pay.
The scale of that commitment is increasingly evident. RCN's records report 29,376 patients treated or seen, alongside 1,899 outpatients managed and 346 patients admitted for inpatient care.
Yet the work does not stop at the doors of the hospital.
Through 57 medical outreaches across three states and two geopolitical zones, medical teams have taken healthcare directly into communities, bringing clinical services closer to populations that might otherwise struggle to access them.
It is healthcare without walls.
52 free surgeries: when inability to pay does not have the final word
For a patient living with a condition requiring surgery, the greatest obstacle may not be the availability of treatment—it may simply be the cost.
RCN Medical Missions has provided 52 free surgeries, giving beneficiaries access to surgical care without the financial burden that might otherwise place treatment beyond their reach.
Behind that number are individual stories: families relieved of anxiety, patients recovering their health, and people given another opportunity to return to their families, livelihoods and communities.
For RCN Medical Missions, surgery is therefore more than a procedure. It is an opportunity to restore health, function, dignity and hope.
Standing with mothers and children
Some of the most important interventions begin before a child is born.
Our maternal-health programmes have served 343 pregnant women, while hospital records represented in the report include 94 antenatal-care cases and 55 deliveries.
Children have remained equally central to the mission.
The impact data record 1,200 school children dewormed and immunized, while 1,340+ students received deworming interventions within educational and health-support activities. The mission also distributed 1,725 exercise books, combining health intervention with practical support for children's development and education.
These interventions reflect a broader philosophy: preventing illness and strengthening communities can be as important as treating disease after it occurs.
Taking care to displaced and vulnerable communities
For people forced from their homes, health needs do not disappear with displacement. They often become more urgent.
RCN's humanitarian interventions have included feeding campaigns in which 2,510 persons/IDPs were fed, alongside broader health and welfare activities. The records also document two major feeding campaigns, three major relief campaigns and six bales of clothing distributed.
Women and girls have also received practical support through the distribution of more than 1,000 pack of sanitary pads—an intervention addressing dignity and basic hygiene alongside healthcare.
The principle is straightforward: humanitarian healthcare must see the whole person, not merely the presenting illness.
Remembering those society can overlook
Behind prison walls, access to sustained healthcare and compassionate human contact can be limited.
RCN's correctional outreach has recorded 1,521 inmate encounters across more than 40 prison visits.
Likewise, people living with disabilities have been intentionally included rather than treated as an afterthought. Through two dedicated outreaches, 315 persons living with disabilities were reached.
These programmes embody one of the defining values of RCN Medical Missions: vulnerability should increase a person's claim upon our compassion, not reduce it.
Healing bodies, touching souls
RCN Medical Missions is rooted in Christian service, and the mission understands healthcare as an expression of love for both the physical and spiritual dimensions of human life.
Alongside its healthcare interventions, the report records more than 1,260 decisions for Christ.
For us, faith and medicine are not competing responsibilities. Compassionate healthcare creates an opportunity to demonstrate love in practical terms—to treat illness, alleviate suffering, listen, encourage and remind every person encountered that their life has value.
It is the philosophy captured in our motto:

Numbers tell only part of the story
The headline impact is substantial: 29,376 patients treated, 52 free surgeries, 57 medical outreaches, 343 pregnant women served, 1,521 inmate encounters, 2,510 persons/IDPs fed, and 315 persons living with disabilities reached.
These figures should not simply be added together as a single beneficiary total because some individuals may have participated in more than one programme. The numbers are therefore best understood as distinct indicators of the breadth and depth of RCN's work.
But even these figures cannot fully describe the impact.
There is a mother who received care when she needed it. A patient who underwent surgery without having to choose between treatment and family survival. A child protected through preventive healthcare. A displaced family that received food and clothing. A prisoner who discovered that somebody still cared. A person living with disability who was seen, supported and valued.
Those are the stories behind the statistics.
The work continues
Every community reached reveals another community waiting. Every patient transported exposes the need for stronger emergency medical transportation. Every successful outreach demonstrates what could be achieved with more equipment, supplies, vehicles, trained personnel and committed partners.
RCN Mission Hospital and RCN Medical Missions therefore look toward the future with an expanding vision: to deepen community healthcare, strengthen maternal and child services, increase surgical capacity, improve emergency referral and transportation, and take quality healthcare farther into underserved communities.
