RCN MEDICAL MISSIONS REPORTING Visitation of Disabled Persons in Otukpo Local Government, Benue State, Nigeria, and Flag-off of the Comprehensive Disability Intervention Programme 30th October, 2025 1. Background, team The RCN Missions’ Hospital was commissioned in year 2024 with its mission of providing affordable, accessible and high-quality healthcare, driven by love and guided by faith. The institution is devoted to delivering top-tier services that prioritize the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of patients. The hospital is physically located in Makurdi Benue State, however, her reach extends beyond Makurdi to the far ends of Nigeria even reaching to distant and rural communities of the country. This is achieved through her three core programmes which include; • AromeCare (Medical Missions/Outreaches) • DinnaCare (Women and Children Health Support Programme) • DOCcare (Dedicated Organisation for Communities Care/Community Health Interventions) Comprehensive Disability Intervention Programme The visitation was aimed at sharing the light of the gospel, bringing hope and to do a proper survey/analysis of the needs of these individuals so as to enable evidence based actions that are channeled rightly. The team had been in communication with Francis Agboko, the founder of an NGO; Make a Soul Smile Disability Center (also a person with disability). Through his organization, the people living with disability (PLWD) were converged in the Otukpo Christian Assembly Hall, at 26B, Rice Mill Road, Otukpo, Benue State. During this highly impactful visitation, the word of God was shared by Pastor Exodus, he also led them in prayers and many of the PLWDs indicated decision to take on the newness of life in Christ Jesus. Our MD and Director of Medical Missions, Rev Dr Chukwudi Okebaram also shared words of hope, faith and love, bringing the thoughts of God to the people. After the word ministration, the objectives, plans and proposed interventions of RCN Medical Missions were made bare to the PLWD. The major needs of the people were highlighted and with this, Rev Dr. Chukwudi Okebaram indicated that RCN Medical Missions will begin work to intervene concerning the needs highlighted such as need for crutches, wheelchairs, medical coverage, financial support, empowerment and more. The mission team released an amount (just to cover refreshment and transport for all that came) and promised to return in a short while with some of the items that have been highlighted. The people were elated, encouraged and greatly rejoiced, it was evident on their faces that yesterday was a night of divine remembrance and renewal of hope for them. 2. Activities: Pre-visit: The team had been in communication with Francis Agboko, the founder of an NGO; Make a Soul Smile Disability Center (also a person with disability). Visit: The outreach was done on the 30th of October, 2025 by the RCN Medical Missions Team in the Otukpo Christian Assembly Hall, at 26B, Rice Mill Road, Otukpo, Benue State. Post-visit: The major needs of the people were highlighted and with this, Rev Dr. Chukwudi Okebaram indicated that RCN Medical Missions will begin work to intervene concerning the needs highlighted such as need for crutches, wheelchairs, medical coverage, financial support, empowerment and more. The RCN Medical Missions intend to return in a short while to meet the needs pointed and provide services as needed. 3. Beneficiaries Disabled persons in Otukpo, Benue State, who were gathered by Francis Agboko, the founder of Make a Soul Smile Disability Center 4. Aims / Goals Providing affordable, accessible and high-quality healthcare, driven by love and guided by faith is the core purpose of the RCN Medical Missions. The aim of the intervention was to bring healing, hope, dignity and the gospel of Christ and to do a survey of the needs of these individuals so as to provide assistance that are channeled rightly. 5. Impact assessment a. Qualitative: During the visitation, the word of God was preached, the people fellowshipped with the team in songs and prayers, needs of the disabled were itemized and promises made for intervention, the people were also given financial support for attending the meeting. b. Quantitative: Impact in Numbers (Demography and Health Statistics) There were about 60 disabled persons (males and females) present. Preservation and Extra Cost Due to an accident that took place on the road and lateness in getting to the disabled persons, the team had to spend the night at a hotel in Otukpo and left very early the next morning. 7.
